Dr. Cara J. Cocchiarella
Founder and Director
As the founder of Win Win Consulting, Dr. Cara Cocchiarella works with teams, coaches, and sports organizations to maximize their efficiency and effectiveness. Her passion for employing the positive influence of sports in the lives of all athletes drives her scholarly, teaching, coaching, and consulting efforts. She is dedicated to inspiring and crafting excellence in sports programs and to ensuring access for all athletes. Her personal, professional, and scholarly work has and will continue to impact athletics at all levels for years to come.
Cara is a professor in Health and Physical Education at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington. She has a Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership, a Master’s degree in Health and Human Performance, and a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance and Spanish. She earned all of her degrees from the University of Montana where she competed as a member of the women’s basketball team. Throughout the course of her career, she has taught a variety of Education, Health, and Physical Education courses in both public and private schools, working with students of all ages from kindergarten to graduate school.
Cara’s coaching experience is also extensive and diverse. She has coached basketball, volleyball, track, cross country, football, and golf. She started her career at the high school level where her teams won numerous district and divisional titles and 6 state championships. En route to a state championship while at the helm of Loyola Sacred Heart High School’s girls basketball team, she amassed a 132-23 record and earned the distinction of Montana’s state Coach of the Year. At the collegiate level, Cara served as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Gonzaga University and spent three years as the head women’s basketball coach at University of Montana Western.
While working with a variety of teams and organizations through Win Win Consulting, Cara is a committee member with the United States Center for Coaching Excellence, a member of the BeLikeCoach Project Team, an Inclusion Champion with Move United, and a RISE Champion of Change. She has completed the International Council for Coaching Excellence/United States Center for Coaching Excellence Coach Developer Academy and serves as a member of numerous local, state, and national education and coaching organizations.
